We have always followed the social projects developed by our family, especially the nonprofit Escola Conceição Lyra, a school located in the countryside of the state of Alagoas with the purpose to provide quality education to the children of employees.

Our mother also studied there, and we always watch the plays, participate in the book fairs, and attend the special events organized by the school. In addition, we have also had the opportunity to do some work and even help in the library’s organization.

In 2017, my brother Fernando decided to study at an international school in England, and in 2021 I also decided to attend the same school.

Living with people from different cultures and from different parts of the world, we understood that to have the chance to choose our own future, we must study a lot. Being Financial Educated and knowing English are important steps towards this freedom of choice.

Being Financial Educated and Learning English are essentials skills nowadays, but in our country and especially in our state, unfortunately, this is not happening as it should be because the teaching of Financial Education and English are still precarious in many underprivileged communities.

Now, the project Winning the World (“Ganhando o Mundo”) initiated by my brother has expanded its mission: help children and adolescents to be Financial Educated and to learn English, through the delivery of workbooks and grammar textbooks (which can now be accessed here through this website) as well as by donating dictionaries, a very important instrument for the learning to take place where no internet is available.

We started to implement our project at Escola Conceição Lyra, and then as it grew, we reached other communities in the rural areas of the state.

The feedback has been very rewarding.

For this reason, we have no doubt that this is just the beginning.
